I am lucky enough to get to do some really great things in my job, but today has been one of my very favourites. This year Butlin’s wanted to do something really special for its 2015 charity partner, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and I was one of the lucky few invited to help out.
As some of Great Ormond Street Hospital’s patients couldn’t make it to see us this summer, we brought Butlin’s to them. Our iconic Redcoats brought Billy Bear and Bonnie Bear along, who got to meet lots of new friends. The famous bears joined in all the fun at the party including cupcake making and greeting the children on the wards.
Our Street Performers did a great job of putting smiles on all the children’s faces and had the parents laughing too!
With our activities team busy helping the children with Arts and Crafts, our puppeteers entertained the crowds with a great show featuring Billy Bear.
The Skyline Gang had all the children learning new tricks and circus skills. As they never miss an opportunity to show off their circus talents, the children and parents watched wide-eyed.
But my very favourite part of the day was when Rainbow, the Skyline Gang’s dog, came out to play. The children’s faces lit up as we walked Rainbow through the corridor to the party and even the adults stopped to ‘high paw’ the beloved puppy!
From all of us at Butlin’s we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the volunteers that assisted at the Summer Party today. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Butlin’s would not have been able to host such a fantastic party without your help. We would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our guests that have donated to this inspiring charity.
