Our True Intent is All for Your Delight

Fundraising fun at Butlin’s Minehead

Here at Butlin’s Minehead it’s been a busy year for fundraising. All across the resort we’ve held events and fundraisers to raise as much as we can for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We kicked the year off with a bake sale organised by two lovely girls from our wardrobe department, whose stall filled with delicious home made cakes and biscuits went down a treat! Not long after we held a “wear purple to work day” in which nearly every team member on resort took part, proudly donning the hospitals purple to raise money and awareness. We even had some of our team running the local marathon at Taunton!

This summer our entertainment team from Minehead and Bognor Regis had the amazing opportunity to go to Great Ormond Street Hospital for a visit. They spent the day meeting the wonderful people who are involved with the hospital, and even got the chance to entertain, putting plenty of smiles on everyone’s faces. We also held a summer fête for our families to attend, where each department set up a stall in a challenge to raise as much money as possible. We had a great collection of stalls, with carnival games, sheep dog shows, a tombola, cake sales, and even a visit from some living topiary.

We even managed to raise some funds on our Live Music Weekends by auctioning guitars signed by all of our visiting artists and offering GOSH wristbands for a small donation. We’ve had an amazing time fundraising for this fantastic cause and at the end of the year I’m sure the figure that we have raised will reflect that.
